قال الشيخ رحمه الله:) وهي فضلة اقوات اهل الامصار على اختلاف اقواتهم في النوع ولا بأس ان يخرجوا قيمتها ذهبا أو فضة(

The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah (swt) have mercy on him, said: “And it is from the surplus of the staple foods of the people of the cities (amsar), according to the difference of their staple foods in type, and there is no harm if they pay its value in gold or silver.”

Hadith 1

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لَهُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ هَلْ عَلَى أَهْلِ اَلْبَوَادِي اَلْفِطْرَةُ قَالَ فَقَالَ» اَلْفِطْرَةُ عَلَى كُلِّ مَنِ اِقْتَاتَ قُوتاً فَعَلَيْهِ أَنْ يُؤَدِّيَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ اَلْقُوتِ«.

Muhammad ibn Yaqub, from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from Muhammad ibn Isa, from Yunus, from the one who mentioned it, from Abu Abdillah (a.s), peace be upon him, who said: I (narrator) said to Imam (a.s): “May I be made your ransom, is the Fitrah upon the people of the deserts?” He (narrator) said: “Imam (a.s) said: ‘The Fitrah is upon everyone who subsists upon a staple food, so he must pay from that staple food.’”

Hadith 2

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ اَلْحَسَنِ اَلصَّفَّارُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ وَ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ اِبْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ:» اَلْفِطْرَةُ عَلَى كُلِّ قَوْمٍ مِمَّا يَغْذُونَ عِيَالاَتِهِمْ مِنْ لَبَنٍ أَوْ زَبِيبٍ أَوْ غَيْرِهِ«.

Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Saffar, from Muhammad ibn Isa, from Yunus, from Zurarah, from Abu Abdillah (a.s), peace be upon him, and from Yunus, from Ibn Muskan, from Abu Abdillah (a.s), peace be upon him: Imam (a.s) said: “The Fitrah is upon every people from that with which they nourish their dependents, from milk, or raisins, or other than it.”

Hadith 3

سَعْدٌ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي اَلْحَسَنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنِ اَلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنِ اَلْقَاسِمِ بْنِ اَلْحَسَنِ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ: سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ بِالْبَادِيَةِ لاَ يُمْكِنُهُ اَلْفِطْرَةُ فَقَالَ» تَصَدَّقَ بِأَرْبَعَةِ أَرْطَالٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ«.

Sa’ad, from Ibrahim ibn Hashim, from Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Sulayman, from al-Hasan ibn Ali, from al-Qasim ibn al-Hasan, from the one who narrated to him, from Abu Abdillah (a.s), peace be upon him, who said: Imam (a.s) was asked about ‘a man in the desert who is not able to give the Fitrah.’ Imam (a.s) said: “He should give in charity four artal of milk.”

Hadith 4

سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ اَلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ:» لاَ بَأْسَ بِالْقِيمَةِ فِي اَلْفِطْرَةِ«.

Sa’ad ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Faddal, from Thalabah ibn Maymun, from Ishaq ibn Ammar, from Abu Abdillah (a.s), peace be upon him, who said: Imam (a.s) said: “There is no harm in the value in the Fitrah.”

Hadith 5

وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا اَلْحَسَنِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَنِ اَلْفِطْرَةِ قَالَ» اَلْجِيرَانُ أَحَقُّ بِهَا وَ لاَ بَأْسَ أَنْ تُعْطِيَ قِيمَةَ ذَلِكَ فِضَّةً«.

From him, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr and Ali ibn Uthman, from Ishaq ibn Ammar, who said: I (narrator) asked Abu al-Hasan (a.s), peace be upon him, about ‘the (zakat of) Fitrah.’ Imam (a.s) said: “The neighbors are more entitled to it, and there is no harm in giving the value of that in silver.”

Hadith 6

وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ اَلْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ هِلاَلٍ عَنِ اِبْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: مِثْلَهُ وَ قَالَ» لاَ بَأْسَ أَنْ تُعْطِيَهُ قِيمَتَهَا دِرْهَماً«.

And from him, from Musa ibn al-Hasan, from Ahmad ibn Hilal, from Ibn Abi Umayr, from Muhammad ibn Abi Hamzah, from Ishaq ibn Ammar, from Abu Abdillah (a.s), peace be upon him: the like of it, And Imam (a.s) said: “There is no harm in giving him its value as a dirham.”
