1. Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan ibn Walǐd narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan Al-Šaffār, from Ĥasan ibn Mūsā Al-Khashāb, from some of his scholars, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) place their sins at the door of their house like a bridge and then leave them behind by crossing it in the same way that one leaves a bridge behind after having crossed it.

2. Muĥamamd ibn Ja’far Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muĥammad ibn Ismā’ǐl, from Šāliĥ ibn ‘Uqbah, from Bashǐr Al-Dahhān, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Verily when a man leaves his family to go to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.), with every step that he takes, (some of) his sins will be forgiven. Then as he travels (toward Ĥusain (a.s.)) he will become more and more purified. Once he arrives (at the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.)), Allāh will speak to him confidentially and say, “O My slave! Ask Me (for anything) and I will grant it. Call Me, for I will answer you. Desire anything and I will fulfill it and ask Me for any of your needs so that I may grant it.” Abū ‘Abdillāh (a.s.) added, “And he deserves to be recompensed by Allāh for that which he has spent (during the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.)).”

3. Muĥamamd ibn Ja’far Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muĥammad ibn Ismā’ǐl, from Šāliĥ ibn ‘Uqbah, from Ĥārith ibn Mughǐrah, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh has some angels who are dedicated to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.). When someone decides to go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.), Allāh will give his sins to these angels. With the first step that he takes, the angels will erase his sins, and with any additional steps that he may take, the angels will multiply his good deeds and his good deeds will keep increasing until he deserves (to enter) Paradise. Then the dedicated angels will surround him and sanctify him. They will call out to the angels of the heavens, “Sanctify the Zuwwār of the love of the love of Allāh (the Prophet (s.a.a.w.)).” After the Zuwwār perform Ghusl, Muĥammad (s.a.a.w.) will call out to them, “O guests of Allāh! Be delighted for you will join me in Paradise.” Then the Commander of the Believers (a.s.) will call out to them, “I guarantee the fulfillment of your requests and to keep the afflictions away from you in this life and in the Hereafter.” Then they (the Messenger of Allāh, the Commander of the Believers (a.s.), and the angels) will surround them and stay to their right and left until they return to their families.

4. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Abǐ ‘Abdillāh Al-Jāmūrāni Al-Rāzi, from Ĥasan ibn ‘Ali ibn Abǐ Ĥamzah, from Ĥasan ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdil Karǐm, from Mufaďďal ibn ‘Umar, from Jābir Al-Ju’fi, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said – as part of a longer Ĥadǐth: And when you (decide to) return from the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.), a caller will call out to you. If you (could) hear that call, you would stay next to the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) for the rest of your life. The caller will say, “Bliss be for you, O slave (of Allāh)! Surely you have won and you are safe. Surely your past sins have been forgiven. Therefore, continue with good deeds.”

5. Abul ‘Abbās Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Ĥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muĥammad ibn Ismā’ǐl, from Al-Khaybari, from Ĥusain ibn Muĥammad Al-Qummi, who said: Abul Ĥasan, Mūsā (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) said: The minimum reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) by the shores of the Euphrates (River) while knowing his rights and believing in his sanctity and Wilāyah is that all of their past and future sins will be forgiven.

6. My father narrated to me from Ĥusain ibn Ĥasan ibn Abān, from Muĥamamd ibn Ūramah, from Abǐ ‘Abdillāh Zakarriyā Al-Mu`min, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Yaĥyā Al-Kāhili, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who want to be honoured by Allāh and to be included in the intercession of Muĥammad (s.a.a.w.) on the Day of Judgment should go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.). (By doing so) Allāh will honour them with the best of honours and rewards and He will not question them for any sins they have committed during their life, even if they are as great (in number) as the grains of sand, the scum in the seas, or the mountains of Tihāmah. Verily Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) was wronged and killed unjustly while he, his family, and his companions were thirsty.

7. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muĥammad ibn Khālid Al-Barqi, from Qāsim ibn Yaĥyā ibn Ĥasan ibn Rāshid, from his grandfather Ĥasan ibn Rāshid, who said: Abū Ibrāhǐm (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) said: When one leaves his house to go to the Ziyārah of Abǐ ‘Abdillāh, Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.), Allāh will dedicate an angel to him who will place his finger on the back of the Zā`ir and who will start writing (on his back) every word which comes out of his mouth until he arrives at the Ĥā`ir. After he exits from the doors of the Ĥā`ir, the angel will place his palm on the middle of the back of the Zā`ir and say, “Surely all of your past sins have been forgiven. Therefore, continue with good deeds.” The above Ĥadǐth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father, from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aĥmad ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muĥammad ibn Khālid Al-Barqi, from Qāsim ibn Yaĥyā ibn Ĥasan ibn Rāshid, from his grandfather Ĥasan ibn Rāshid, from Ibrāhǐm ibn Abil Bilād, from Abǐ Ibrāhǐm (a.s.).

Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ĥimyari narrated to me from his father, from ‘Ali ibn Muĥammad ibn Sālim, from Muĥammad ibn Khālid, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Ĥammād Al-Anšāri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Abdil Raĥmān Al-Ašam, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Muskān, who said: I saw Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) when a group of people from Khurāsān had come to visit him. They asked him about going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) and its rewards. Imam (a.s.) said: My father (a.s.) narrated for me that my grandfather (Imam Sajjād (a.s.)) used to say: Allāh will erase the sins of those who go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) for the sake of Allāh. They will be sinless like a newborn baby. Angels will accompany them on their way (to the Ziyārah) and they will flap and spread their wings over their heads until they return to their families. Angels will seek forgiveness for them from their Lord and call out to them, “You have been blessed and blessed is the one to whose Ziyārah you have come.” They will be covered by the Mercy from the heavens and their families will be protected for them.
