 أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ غَزْوَانَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِیلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَمَّا عَمِلَ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ مَا عَمِلُوا بَکَتِ الْأَرْضُ إِلَی رَبِّهَا حَتَّی بَلَغَتْ دُمُوعُهَا إِلَی السَّمَاءِ وَ بَکَتِ السَّمَاءُ حَتَّی بَلَغَتْ دُمُوعُهَا إِلَی الْعَرْشِ فَأَوْحَی اللَّهُ تَعَالَی إِلَی السَّمَاءِ أَنِ احْصِبِیهِمْ وَ أَوْحَی إِلَی الْأَرْضِ أَنِ اخْسِفِی بِهِمْ.

1.  Imam  Ja’far  Sadiq  (a.s.)  relates  that  the  community  of Prophet  Lut  (a.s.)  was  involved  in  homosexual  relations excessively. Hence, the earth cried so much in front of the Lord that its tears reached the heavens and heavens cried so much that their tears reached the Divine Throne. Then Allah ordered  the  sky  to  rain  stones  on  those  people  and  He ordered the earth to swallow them.”

 حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی حَسَنُ بْنُ مَتِّیلٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِی زَکَرِیَّا بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: کَانَ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ أَفْضَلَ قَوْمٍ خَلَقَهُمُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَی فَطَلَبَهُمْ إِبْلِیسُ الطَّلَبَ الشَّدِیدَ وَ کَانَ مِنْ قِصَّتِهِمْ وَ خَبَرِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذَا خَرَجُوا إِلَی الْعَمَلِ خَرَجُوا بِأَجْمَعِهِمْ وَ تَبْقَی النِّسَاءُ خَلْفَهُمْ فَأَتَی إِبْلِیسُ مَتَاعَهُمْ وَ کَانُوا إِذَا رَجَعُوا خَرَّبَ إِبْلِیسُ مَا یَعْمَلُونَ- فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ تَعَالَوْا نَرْصُدْ هَذَا الَّذِی یُخَرِّبُ مَتَاعَنَا  فَرَصَدُوهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ غُلَامٌ أَحْسَنُ مَا یَکُونُ مِنَ الْغِلْمَانِ فَقَالُوا لَهُ أَنْتَ الَّذِی تُخَرِّبُ مَتَاعَنَا فَقَالَ نَعَمْ مَرَّهً بَعْدَ مَرَّهٍ فَاجْتَمَعَ رَأْیُهُمْ عَلَی أَنْ یَقْتُلُوهُ فَبَیَّتُوهُ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ فَلَمَّا کَانَ اللَّیْلُ صَاحَ فَقَالَ مَا لَکَ فَقَالَ کَانَ أَبِی یُنَوِّمُنِی عَلَی بَطْنِهِ فَقَالَ تَعَالَ فَنَمْ عَلَی بَطْنِی فَلَمْ یَزَلْ یَدْلُکُ الرَّجُلَ حَتَّی عَلَّمَهُ أَنْ یَعْمَلَ بِنَفْسِهِ فَأَوَّلًا عَمِلَهُ إِبْلِیسُ وَ الثَّانِیَهَ عَمِلَهُ هُوَ ثُمَّ انْسَلَّ فَفَرَّ مِنْهُمْ فَأَصْبَحُوا فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ یُخْبِرُ بِمَا فَعَلَ الْغُلَامُ وَ یُعْجِبُهُمْ مِنْهُ شَیْئاً لَا یَعْرِفُونَهُ فَوَضَعُوا أَیْدِیَهُمْ فِیهِ حَتَّی اکْتَفَی الرِّجَالُ بَعْضُهُمْ بِبَعْضٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلُوا یَرْصُدُونَ مَارَّ الطَّرِیقِ فَیَفْعَلُونَ بِهِمْ حَتَّی تَرَکَ مَدِینَتَهُمُ النَّاسُ- ثُمَّ تَرَکُوا نِسَاءَهُمْ فَأَقْبَلُوا عَلَی الْغِلْمَانِ- فَلَمَّا رَأَی إِبْلِیسُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ أَحْکَمَ أَمْرَهُ فِی الرِّجَالِ دَارَ إِلَی النِّسَاءِ فَصَیَّرَ نَفْسَهُ امْرَأَهً ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ رِجَالَکُمْ یَفْعَلُونَ بَعْضُهُمْ بِبَعْضٍ قُلْنَ نَعَمْ قَدْ رَأَیْنَا ذَلِکَ وَ عَلَی ذَلِکَ یَعِظُهُمْ لُوطٌ وَ یُوصِیهِمْ حَتَّی اسْتَخَفَّ بِهِ ثُمَّ اسْتَکْفَتِ النِّسَاءُ بِالنِّسَاءِ فَلَمَّا کَمُلَتْ عَلَیْهِمُ الْحُجَّهُ بَعَثَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ جَبْرَائِیلَ وَ مِیکَائِیلَ وَ إِسْرَافِیلَ فِی زِیِّ غِلْمَانٍ عَلَیْهِمْ أَقْبِیَهٌ فَمَرُّوا بِلُوطٍ ع وَ هُوَ یَحْرُثُ فَقَالَ أَیْنَ تُرِیدُونَ فَمَا رَأَیْتُ أَجْمَلَ مِنْکُمْ قَطُّ فَقَالُوا أَرْسَلَنَا سَیِّدُنَا إِلَی رَبِّ هَذِهِ الْمَدِینَهِ فَقَالَ أَ وَ لَمْ یَبْلُغْ سَیِّدَکُمْ مَا یَفْعَلُ أَهْلُ هَذِهِ الْقَرْیَهِ یَا بَنِیَّ إِنَّهُمْ وَ اللَّهِ یَأْخُذُونَ الرِّجَالَ فَیَفْعَلُونَ بِهِمْ حَتَّی یَخْرُجَ الدَّمُ فَقَالُوا أَمَرَنَا سَیِّدُنَا أَنْ نَمُرَّ فِی وَسَطِهَا قَالَ فَلِی إِلَیْکُمْ حَاجَهٌ قَالُوا وَ مَا هِیَ قَالَ تَصْبِرُونَ هَاهُنَا إِلَی اخْتِلَاطِ الظَّلَامِ قَالَ فَجَلَسُوا قَالَ فَبَعَثَ ابْنَتَهُ فَقَالَ جِیئِی لَهُمْ بِخُبْزٍ وَ جِیئِی لَهُمْ بِمَاءٍ فِی الْقِرْبَهِ وَ جِیئِی لَهُمْ عَبَاءً یُغَطَّوْنَ بِهَا مِنَ الْبَرْدِ فَلَمَّا أَنْ ذَهَبَتِ الِابْنَهُ إِلَی الْبَیْتِ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ الْمَطَرُ مِنَ الْوَادِی- قَالَ لَهُمْ قُومُوا بِنَا حَتَّی نَمْضِیَ فَجَعَلَ لُوطٌ ع یَمْشِی فِی أَصْلِ الْحَائِطِ وَ جَعَلَ جَبْرَائِیلُ وَ مِیکَائِیلُ وَ إِسْرَافِیلُ یَمْشُونَ فِی وَسَطِ الطَّرِیقِ فَقَالَ یَا بَنِیَّ امْشُوا هَاهُنَا فَقَالُوا أَمَرَنَا سَیِّدُنَا أَنْ نَمُرَّ فِی وَسَطِهَا وَ کَانَ لُوطٌ ع یَسْتَغْنِمُ الظَّلَامَ وَ مَرَّ إِبْلِیسُ فَأَخَذَ مِنْ حَجْرِ امْرَأَهٍ صَبِیّاً فَطَرَحَهُ فِی الْبِئْرِ فَتَصَایَحَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِینَهِ کُلُّهُمْ عَلَی بَابِ لُوطٍ ع فَلَمَّا نَظَرُوا إِلَی الْغِلْمَانِ فِی مَنْزِلِ لُوطٍ ع قَالُوا یَا لُوطُ قَدْ دَخَلْتَ فِی عَمَلِنَا- قَالَ هؤُلاءِ ضَیْفِی فَلا تَفْضَحُونِ قَالُوا ثَلَاثَهٌ خُذْ وَاحِداً وَ أَعْطِنَا اثْنَیْنِ قَالَ وَ أَدْخَلَهُمُ الْحُجْرَهَ قَالَ لُوطٌ ع لَوْ أَنَّ لِی أَهْلَ بَیْتٍ یَمْنَعُونَنِی مِنْکُمْ قَالَ وَ تَدَافَعُوا عَلَی الْبَابِ فَکَسَرُوا بَابَ لُوطٍ ع وَ طَرَحُوا لُوطاً فَقَالَ لَهُمْ جَبْرَائِیلُ إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّکَ لَنْ یَصِلُوا إِلَیْکَ فَخُذْ کَفّاً مِنْ بَطْحَاءِ الْأَرْضِ فَاضْرِبْ وُجُوهَهُمْ فَقَالَ شَاهَتِ الْوُجُوهُ فَعَمِیَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِینَهِ کُلُّهُمْ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ لُوطٌ یَا رُسُلَ رَبِّی بِمَ أَمَرَکُمْ رَبِّی فِیهِمْ قَالَ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَأْخُذَهُمْ بِالسَّحَرِ قَالَ فَلِی إِلَیْکُمْ حَاجَهٌ قَالُوا وَ مَا حَاجَتُکَ قَالَ تَأْخُذُونَهُمُ السَّاعَهَ- قَالُوا یَا لُوطُ إِنَّ مَوْعِدَهُمُ الصُّبْحُ أَ لَیْسَ الصُّبْحُ بِقَرِیبٍ لَکِنْ نُرِیدُ أَنْ تَرْحَلَ فَخُذْ أَنْتَ بَنَاتِکَ وَ امْضِ وَ دَعِ امْرَأَتَکَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع رَحِمَ اللَّهُ لُوطاً لَوْ یَدْرِی مَنْ مَعَهُ فِی الْحُجْرَهِ لَعَلِمَ أَنَّهُ مَنْصُورٌ حِینَ یَقُولُ لَوْ أَنَّ لِی بِکُمْ قُوَّهً أَوْ آوِی إِلی رُکْنٍ شَدِیدٍ أَیُّ رُکْنٍ أَشَدُّ مِنْ جَبْرَئِیلَ مَعَهُ فِی الْحُجْرَهِ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لِمُحَمَّدٍ ص وَ ما هِیَ مِنَ الظَّالِمِینَ بِبَعِیدٍ مِنْ ظَلَمَهِ أُمَّتِکَ إِنْ عَمِلُوا مَا عَمِلَ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ أَلَحَّ فِی وَطْیِ الرِّجَالِ لَمْ یَمُتْ حَتَّی یَدْعُوَ الرِّجَالَ إِلَی نَفْسِهِ.

2. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Hassan b. Mateel from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Khalid from Muhammad b. Sa’eed who said I was informed by Zakariya b. Muhammad from his father from ’Amru from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said: “One who sodomises a man will not die until he has invited others to sodomise himself.”

 رُوِیَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فِی رَجُلٍ لَعِبَ بِغُلَامٍ قَالَ إِذَا وَقَبَ لَنْ تَحِلَّ لَهُ أُخْتُهُ أَبَداً وَ قَالَ ع لَوْ کَانَ یَنْبَغِی لِأَحَدٍ أَنْ یُرْجَمَ مَرَّتَیْنِ لَرُجِمَ اللُّوطِیُّ مَرَّتَیْنِ.

3.  Imam Ja’far Sadiq has said, “If a man commits sodomy with a boy, he can never ever marry that boy’s sister.” Imam  Ja’far  Sadiq (a.s.) said, “If there  is  a  person who deserves stoning twice, it is one who commits sodomy.”

 وَ قَالَ ع قَالَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع اللِّوَاطُ مَا دُونَ الدُّبُرِ فَهُوَ لِوَاطٌ وَ الدُّبُرُ هُوَ الْکُفْرُ.

4.  It is also narrated that Amirul Momineen (a.s.) said, “If it is done outside anus, it is called sodomy and if it is inside it, it is disbelief.”

 أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَیْمُونٍ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَی أَبِی فَقَالَ لَهُ یَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ إِنِّی ابْتُلِیتُ بِبَلَاءٍ فَادْعُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَقِیلَ لَهُ إِنَّهُ یُؤْتَی فِی دُبُرِهِ فَقَالَ مَا أَبْلَی اللَّهُ أَحَداً بِهَذَا الْبَلَاءِ وَ لَهُ فِیهِ حَاجَهٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبِی ع قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ عِزَّتِی وَ جَلَالِی لَا یَقْعُدُ عَلَی إِسْتَبْرَقِهَا وَ حَرِیرِهَا مَنْ یُؤْتَی فِی دُبُرِهِ.

5. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ja’far b. Muhammad from Abdillah b. Maymun al-Qadah from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: I swear by My honor! A person who allows others to have illicit relations with him will also be unable to sit on the sheets of Paradise.”

 أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ یَحْیَی الْخَزَّازِ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: قَالَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع إِنَّ لِلَّهِ عِبَاداً لَا یَعْبَأُ بِهِمْ شَیْئاً لَهُمْ أَرْحَامٌ کَأَرْحَامِ النِّسَاءِ فَقِیلَ یَا أَمِیرَ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ أَ فَلَا یَحْبَلُونَ قَالَ إِنَّهَا مَنْکُوسَهٌ.

6. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ahmad b. Yahya al-Khazaz from Ammar b. Ibrahim from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “There are some men about whom Allah will not care at all. They have wombs like women.” Imam was asked, “Don’t these men get pregnant?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Their wombs are like balloons.”

 حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ أَبِی الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَمْ یَبْتَلِ شِیعَتَنَا بِأَرْبَعٍ أَنْ یَسْأَلُوا النَّاسَ فِی أَکُفِّهِمْ وَ أَنْ یُؤْتَوْا فِی أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَ أَنْ یَبْتَلِیَهُمْ بِوَلَایَهِ سَوْءٍ وَ لَا یُولَدُ لَهُمْ أَزْرَقُ أَخْضَرُ.

7. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan from Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar from Muhammad b. al-Hussain b. Abi al-Khattab from Ali b. Asbat from some of his companions from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “The Almighty Allah does not involve our Shias in four kinds of calamities viz. begging, homosexual relations, involving in bad friendship and giving birth to children like a green crow.”

 أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِی حُذَیْفَهَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص الْمُتَشَبِّهِینَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ بِالنِّسَاءِ وَ الْمُتَشَبِّهَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ بِالرِّجَالِ وَ هُمُ الْمُخَنَّثُونَ وَ اللَّاتِی یَنْکِحُ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضاً وَ إِنَّمَا أَهْلَکَ اللَّهُ قَوْمَ لُوطٍ حِینَ عَمِلَ النِّسَاءُ بِمِثْلِ عَمَلِ الرِّجَالِ وَ رَأَی بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضاً.

Muhammad from Abi Hudhayfa from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) has cursed those men who dress up as women and those women who dress up as men. These are same people who are involved in homosexual relations. Surely the women of the community of Prophet Lut (a.s.) was also involved in homosexual relations when chastisement befell the community.

 أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ یَحْیَی الْخَزَّازِ عَنْ غِیَاثِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع مَا أَمْکَنَ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ أَحَدٌ طَائِعاً یُلْعَبُ بِهِ إِلَّا أَلْقَی اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِ شَهْوَهَ النِّسَاءِ.

9.  Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates that Amirul Momineen (a.s.)  said,  “There  is  no  man  that  hands  over  himself  to another man to play with him as he wishes but that Allah develops female sexuality in him.”

 أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ الْحَکَمِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ حَرِیزٍ قَالَ: سَأَلَتْنِی امْرَأَهٌ أَنْ أَسْتَأْذِنَ لَهَا عَلَی أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَأَذِنَ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ أَخْبِرْنِی عَنِ اللَّوَاتِی مَعَ اللَّوَاتِی مَا حَدُّ مَا هُوَ فِیهِ قَالَ حَدُّ الزَّانِیَهِ إِذَا کَانَ یَوْمُ الْقِیَامَهِ یُؤْتَی بِهِنَّ قَدْ أُلْبِسْنَ بِقِطَاعٍ مِنْ نَارٍ وَ قُنِّعْنَ بِمَقَانِعَ مِنْ نَارٍ وَ سُرْوِلْنَ مِنْ سَوَارٍ مِنْ نَارٍ وَ أُدْخِلَ فِی أَجْوَافِهِنَّ إِلَی رُءُوسِهِنَّ أَعْمِدَهٌ مِنْ نَارٍ وَ قُذِفَ بِهِنَّ فِی النَّارِ أَیَّتُهَا الِامْرَأَهُ أَوَّلُ مَنْ عَمِلَ هَذَا قَوْمُ لُوطٍ فَاسْتَغْنَی الرِّجَالُ بِالرِّجَالِ وَ النِّسَاءُ بِالنِّسَاءِ وَ بَقِیَ النِّسَاءُ بِغَیْرِ رِجَالٍ فَفَعَلْنَ کَمَا فَعَلَ رِجَالُهُنَّ.

10. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ahmad b. Muhammad from Ali b. al-Hakam from Ishaq b. Hareez who said:   Once a woman came to the narrator to seek permission to meet Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.). The permission was granted and she came to meet the Imam (a.s.). She asked Imam (a.s.), “What is the punishment of a lesbian?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “The punishment is equal to that of a fornicator. The adulterers will be brought on the Day of Judgment wearing a dress of fire. Their shawl will be of fire. They will be pierced with the rods of fire from the stomach to their heads and they will be thrown into Hell. She will be told: O woman! This act was done by the community of Prophet Lut (a.s.) first when the males started involving themselves with other males and women being left alone became lesbians.”

 حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَائِذٍ عَنْ أَبِی خَدِیجَهَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: لَیْسَ لِامْرَأَتَیْنِ أَنْ یَبِیتَا فِی لِحَافٍ وَاحِدٍ إِلَّا أَنْ یَکُونَ بَیْنَهُمَا حَاجِزٌ فَإِنْ فَعَلَتَا نُهِیَتَا عَنْ ذَلِکَ وَ إِنْ وُجِدَتَا بَعْدَ النَّهْیِ جُلِدَتْ کُلُّ وَاحِدَهٍ مِنْهُنَّ حَدّاً حَدّاً فَإِنْ وُجِدَتَا أَیْضاً فِی لِحَافٍ جُلِدَتَا فَإِنْ وُجِدَتَا الثَّالِثَهَ قُتِلَتَا.

11. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar from Ahmad b. Muhammad from al-Hussain b. Ali al-Washa from Ahmad b. ’Aidh from Abi Khadija’ from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “Two women cannot sleep together under a single blanket without a partition or a gap between them. If they do so, they should be stopped. If they do not listen, they should be lashed as per Islamic law. If they do it again, they should be lashed again and if they do it the third time, they should be executed.”

 أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِی عُمَیْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: دَخَلَتْ عَلَیْهِ نِسْوَهٌ فَسَأَلَتْهُ امْرَأَهٌ عَنِ السَّحْقِ فَقَالَ حَدُّهَا حَدُّ الزَّانِی فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَهٌ مَا ذَکَرَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ ذَلِکَ فِی الْقُرْآنِ قَالَ بَلَی قال [قَالَتْ] وَ أَیْنَ قَالَ هُوَ أَصْحابُ الرَّسِ.

12. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Ali b. Ibrahim from his father from Muhammad b. Abi ’Umayr from Hisham b. Salim from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “Allah has discussed about it the Holy Quran.” They asked where He has discussed it. Imam (a.s.) replied, “It is discussed in the incident of the people of Rass.”
