[1] Abū Baṣīr is a title that is shared by a number of individuals including: Layth ibn al- Bakhtarī al-Murādī, ʿAbdullāh ibn Muḥammad al-Asadī, and Yaḥyā ibn Abī al-Qāsim al- Asadī. When used without a qualifier, it most commonly refers to the last of the three, who was a companion of Imams al-Bāqir, al-Ṣādiq and al-Kāẓim عليه السلام.
