al-A‘rāf (The Elevations)

ٱلْأَعْرَاف

7:204

وَإِذَا

قُرِئَ

الْقُرْآنُ

فَاسْتَمِعُوا

لَهُ

وَأَنصِتُوا

لَعَلَّكُمْ

تُرْحَمُونَ

wa-ʾidhā quriʾa l-qurʾānu fa-stamiʿū lahū wa-ʾanṣitū laʿallakum turḥamūna

Whenever the Quran is recited (to you), listen to it quietly so that you may receive mercy.

And when

وَإِذَا

is recited

قُرِئَ

the Quran

الْقُرْآنُ

then listen

فَاسْتَمِعُوا

to it

لَهُ

and pay attention

وَأَنصِتُوا

so that you may

لَعَلَّكُمْ

receive mercy

تُرْحَمُونَ
