Say, ‘Bring your witnesses who may testify that Allah has forbidden this.’ So if they testify, do not testify with them, and do not follow the desires of those who deny Our signs, and those who do not believe in the Hereafter and equate [others] with their Lord.

Commentary on Quran 6:150
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 6:150] The pagan superstitions were baseless, harmful and debasing. If Allah's name was pronounced to support their falsehood, no true believer in Allah could be deceived. Those who set up false gods fail to understand Allah's true authority and their own true destiny.
