al-An‘ām (Cattle)

ٱلْأَنْعَام

6:143

ثَمَانِيَةَ

أَزْوَاجٍ

مِّنَ

الضَّأْنِ

اثْنَيْنِ

وَمِنَ

الْمَعْزِ

اثْنَيْنِ

قُلْ

آلذَّكَرَيْنِ

حَرَّمَ

أَمِ

الْأُنثَيَيْنِ

أَمَّا

اشْتَمَلَتْ

عَلَيْهِ

أَرْحَامُ

الْأُنثَيَيْنِ

نَبِّئُونِي

بِعِلْمٍ

إِن

كُنتُمْ

صَادِقِينَ

thamāniyata ʾazwājin mina ḍ-ḍaʾni thnayni wa-mina l-maʿzi thnayni qul ʾādh-dhakarayni ḥarrama ʾami l-ʾunthayayni ʾammā shtamalat ʿalayhi ʾarḥāmu l-ʾunthayayni nabbiʾūnī bi-ʿilmin ʾin kuntum ṣādiqīna

(Supposing) that there are eight pairs of cattle, two pairs of sheep, and two pairs of goats. Tell Me (which is lawful and which is not)? Are the two males unlawful (to eat) or the two females or those that are in the wombs of the females? If you are truthful, then, answer Me exactly.
