وَإِذَا نَادَيْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ اتَّخَذُوهَا هُزُوًا وَلَعِبًا ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَعْقِلُونَ
When you call to prayer, they take it in derision and play. That is because they are a people who do not exercise their reason.

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 5:58] The ignorant and stupid people of the book and the infidels, mentioned in the preceding verse, make fun of the azan (call to prayers), therefore, they must not be befriended.
