النساء
al-Nisā’ (Women)
ٱلنِّسَاء
4:83
وَإِذَا
جَاءَهُمْ
أَمْرٌ
مِّنَ
الْأَمْنِ
أَوِ
الْخَوْفِ
أَذَاعُوا
بِهِ
وَلَوْ
رَدُّوهُ
إِلَى
الرَّسُولِ
وَإِلَى
أُولِي
الْأَمْرِ
مِنْهُمْ
لَعَلِمَهُ
الَّذِينَ
يَسْتَنبِطُونَهُ
مِنْهُمْ
وَلَوْلَا
فَضْلُ
اللَّهِ
عَلَيْكُمْ
وَرَحْمَتُهُ
لَاتَّبَعْتُمُ
الشَّيْطَانَ
إِلَّا
قَلِيلًا
wa-ʾidhā jāʾahum ʾamrun mina l-ʾamni ʾawi l-khawfi ʾadhāʿū bihī wa-law raddūhu ʾilā r-rasūli wa-ʾilā ʾulī l-ʾamri minhum la-ʿalimahu lladhīna yastanbiṭūnahū minhum wa-law-lā faḍlu llāhi ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatuhū la-ttabaʿtumu sh-shayṭāna ʾillā qalīlan
When they receive any news of peace or war, they announce it in public. Had they told it to the Messenger or to their (qualified) leaders, they could have used that information more properly. Were it not for the favor and mercy of God, all but a few of them would have followed Satan.
