Commentary on Quran 36:16
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 36:16] Whenever Prophets are sent, the best proof of their genuineness is that whenever people disbelieved them, the prophets always invoked the authority and mercy of Allah and patiently suffered the worst of persecution and tortures and never yielded to any authority other than Allah.
