This paragraph relates a great event of imprecating curse. This is as a result of the Prophet’s message to distant places, after having influenced the near about pagan Arabs, to Najran, A town in Yemen, where Christians were believing in Jesus to be a son of God. Men under leadership of Askaf came over to argue with the Prophet whom God revealed to offer a like case in Adam, who had no parents. On refusal to be convinced, God commanded the Prophet to throw down the gauntlet by imprecating curse on liars after bringing in their sons, ladies and souls on the field of imprecation barring Abul Haris, who recollected a tradition of Jesus not to enter into such a challenge, if the party involved brought his nearest kith and kin but submit, or reconcile on payment of Jazya, which being done, they returned home, thus proved truth of Islam, and purity and perfect truth of Ahl al-Bayt. It was for this Ali claimed to be “Siddick-i-Akbar” and said none but a great liar would adopt this title.

تفسیر; آیت کہتی ہے کہ مسیح (علیه السلام) کے بارے میں قرآن کے منطقی دلائل کے باوجود اور دعوتِ مباہلہ کے بعد بھی اگر وہ حق کو تسلیم نہیں کرتے اور اپنی ہٹ دھرمی جاری رکھتے ہیں تو اس سے ثابت ہوتا ہے کہ وہ طالب حق نہیں بلکہ ناروا تعصبات ، سر کشی ، ہو او ہس اور اندھی تقلید میں گرفتار ہیں اور ان کا کام بہر صورت معاشرے میں فساد پیدا کرنا ہے ۔ حقیقت یہی ہے کہ جو گروہ حق کے واضح ہونے جانے کے باوجود اپنی ڈھٹھائی ترک نہیں کرتا وہ حق کا متلاشی نہیں ہوسکتا بلکہ وہ طالبِ فساد ہے اور کا مقصدلوگوں کے صحیح عقائد کی بنیادوں کو کھوکھلا اور خراب کرنا ہے ۔ ۶۴ قُلْ یَااٴَہْلَ الْکِتَابِ تَعَالَوْا إِلَی کَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَیْنَنَا وَبَیْنَکُمْ اٴَلاَّ نَعْبُدَ إِلاَّ اللهَ وَلاَنُشْرِکَ بِہِ شَیْئًا وَلاَیَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا اٴَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللهِ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُولُوا اشْہَدُوا بِاٴَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ۔ ترجمہ ۶۴۔ کہیے: اہل کتاب ! اوٴ ایسی بات کی طرف جو ہمارے اور تمہارے درمیان مشترک ہے کہ سوائے خدائے یگانہ کے کسی کی عبادت نہ کریں اور کسی چیز کو ا سکا شریک قرار نہ دیں اور ہم میں سے بعض خدا کو چھوڑ کر بعض دوسروں کو خدا کے طور پر قبول نہ کریں ، جب (وہ اس دعوت سے )روگردانی کریں تو کہیے: گواہ رہو کہ ہم تو مسلمان ہیں ۔

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 3:62] Isa was like Adam, a prophet of Allah created by Him. He was neither God nor a son of God. There is no god save Allah. Whoso turns away, even after these exhortations and arguments, is a mischief-maker. Rejection of the evidences and repudiation of the doctrine of monotheism (there is no god save Allah) constitute corruption of religion and faith.
