al-Baqarah (The Cow)

ٱلْبَقَرَة

2:114

وَمَنْ

أَظْلَمُ

مِمَّن

مَّنَعَ

مَسَاجِدَ

اللَّهِ

أَن

يُذْكَرَ

فِيهَا

اسْمُهُ

وَسَعَى

فِي

خَرَابِهَا

أُولَئِكَ

مَا

كَانَ

لَهُمْ

أَن

يَدْخُلُوهَا

إِلَّا

خَائِفِينَ

لَهُمْ

فِي

الدُّنْيَا

خِزْيٌ

وَلَهُمْ

فِي

الْآخِرَةِ

عَذَابٌ

عَظِيمٌ

wa-man ʾaẓlamu mimman manaʿa masājida llāhi ʾan yudhkara fīhā smuhū wa-saʿā kharābihā ʾulāʾika kāna lahum ʾan yadkhulūhā ʾillā khāʾifīna lahum d-dunyā khizyun wa-lahum l-ʾākhirati ʿadhābun ʿaẓīmun

Who is more unjust than those who strive to destroy the mosques and prevent others from commemorating the Name of God therein who could not enter the mosques except with fear. They, (the unjust ones), will be disgraced in this life and will receive great torment in the life hereafter.
