al-Kahf (The Cave)
ٱلْكَهْف
18:86
حَتَّى
إِذَا
بَلَغَ
مَغْرِبَ
الشَّمْسِ
وَجَدَهَا
تَغْرُبُ
فِي
عَيْنٍ
حَمِئَةٍ
وَوَجَدَ
عِندَهَا
قَوْمًا
قُلْنَا
يَاذَا
الْقَرْنَيْنِ
إِمَّا
أَن
تُعَذِّبَ
وَإِمَّا
أَن
تَتَّخِذَ
فِيهِمْ
حُسْنًا
ḥattā ʾidhā balagha maghriba sh-shamsi wajadahā taghrubu fī ʿaynin ḥamiʾatin wa-wajada ʿindahā qawman qulnā yā-dhā l-qarnayni ʾimmā ʾan tuʿadhdhiba wa-ʾimmā ʾan tattakhidha fīhim ḥusnan
to the West where he found the sun setting into a warm source (spring) of water and a people living near by. We asked him, "Dhu 'l-Qarnayn, you may punish them or treat them with kindness?"
