al-Isrā’ (The Night Journey)
ٱلْإِسْرَاء
17:15
مَّنِ
اهْتَدَى
فَإِنَّمَا
يَهْتَدِي
لِنَفْسِهِ
وَمَن
ضَلَّ
فَإِنَّمَا
يَضِلُّ
عَلَيْهَا
وَلَا
تَزِرُ
وَازِرَةٌ
وِزْرَ
أُخْرَى
وَمَا
كُنَّا
مُعَذِّبِينَ
حَتَّى
نَبْعَثَ
رَسُولًا
mani htadā fa-ʾinnamā yahtadī li-nafsihī wa-man ḍalla fa-ʾinnamā yaḍillu ʿalayhā wa-lā taziru wāziratun wizra ʾukhrā wa-mā kunnā muʿadhdhibīna ḥattā nabʿatha rasūlan
One who follows guidance does so for himself and one who goes astray does so against his soul. No one will suffer for the sins of others. We have never punished anyone without sending them Our Messenger first.
