رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and all the faithful, on the day when the reckoning is held.’

Commentary on Quran 14:41
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 14:41] Aqa Mahdi Puya says: Ibrahim asks Allah to favour his parents with divine grace and forgiveness and keep them safe from sinfulness, therefore there is no doubt that his parents were true believers. See commentary of An-am: 75 to 84 to know that Azar was not his father but an uncle whom Ibrahim tried to bring into the fold of true faith but failed, and finally disassociated himself from him (Bara-at: 114).
