5. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from certain persons of his people from abu Hashim al-Ja‘fariy who has said the following:
“I once visited abu al-Hassan, Sahib al- ‘Askar , when one of his children came and give him a flower. He (the Imam) kissed it and placed it on his eyes. He (the Imam) then gave it to me and said, ‘O abu Hashim, one on receiving a flower or a bunch of sweet basil should kiss and then place it on his eyes. Then he should say, ‘O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and ‘A’immah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam. Allah writes for him of merits equal to the sands of the wilderness and deletes of his bad deeds an equal number.’”
