17. AI-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from Ja‘far ibn Muhammad aI-Ash‘ariy from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ’Once a lapse took place in coming of divine revelation to the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause. He (the Messenger of Allah) was asked, ’Has coming of divine revelation to you stopped?’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘Why should it not stop when you do not clip your fingernails and clean your finger joints?”’
