3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Ali ibn Ishaq ibn Sa‘d ibn Yunus from certain persons of his people who has said the following:

“Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘The amount of beard that you must keep is what comes in inside your fist and you must clip off whatever exceeds you fist.’”
