2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said that Ja‘far ibn abu Talib was with the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and he presented quince to the Holy Prophet. The Holy Prophet cut one piece from it and gave it to Ja‘far but he declined to eat it. The Holy Prophet said, ‘Take and eat it. It makes the heart (mind) intelligent and emboldens a coward heart.’ In another Hadith it is said, ‘Eat it; it clears the color and beautifies the child (to be born).”’
