4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following:
“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah , about the case of a woman who is pregnant and her husband dies. She gives birth and marries before the passing of four months and ten days. He (the Imam) said, ‘If he has gone to bed with her, they must be separated from each other and she will be unlawful for him forever. She must complete the remaining of her waiting period and complete another waiting period from the end of that for three cycles of menses, but if he has not gone to bed with her, they must separated from each other and she must complete the remaining of her waiting period and he then is one of the people who can propose to her for marriage.’”
