28. Ali has narrated from his father from ibn abu Nasr from al-Mashriqiy who has said the following:

“I once asked al-Rida’ , about the case of a man who proposes marriage to a woman who is playful and joking about it. He asks the woman about it and she says, ‘Yes.’ He (the Imam) ‘Alayhi al-Salam, said, ‘It does not mean anything valid.’ I then asked, ‘Can one marry her?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, he can do so.’”
