Ali ibn Hatim, from Muhammad ibn Abi Abdillah, from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from al-Hasan ibn Mahbub, from al-Harith ibn Abi Rasan, from Burayd ibn Mu‘awiyah al-‘Ijli, from one of the two (Imams عليه السلام), said:
Imam al-Baqir
عليه السلام said: “O’ Allah
سبحانه وتعالى, I ask You
عز وجل by the fact that all praise belongs to You
عز وجل. There is no God but You
عز وجل, the Bestower, ‘Originator of the heavens and the earth, Possessor of Majesty and Generosity’ (Surah Al-Baqarah
2:117), Indeed, I am a needy supplicant, a fearful one seeking refuge, a repentant one seeking forgiveness. O’ Allah
سبحانه وتعالى, send blessings upon (Prophet) Muhammad
صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and the family of Muhammad
صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, And forgive me all of my sins the old and the recent, and every sin I have committed. O’ Allah
سبحانه وتعالى, do not make my affliction severe, And do not allow my enemies to rejoice over me, for there is no repeller and no withholder except You
عز وجل.”
