Chapter on the Adhan (Call to Prayer) and the Iqamah

Hadith #31

وَعَنْهُ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ:« لاَ تَتَكَلَّمْ إِذَا أَقَمْتَ اَلصَّلاَةَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذَا تَكَلَّمْتَ أَعَدْتَ اَلْإِقَامَةَ»

Narrated from him from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz from Muhammad ibn Muslim, who said: Abu Abdillah said: "Do not speak once you have given the iqamah for the prayer, for if you speak, you must repeat the iqamah."
