Hadith #121

وَ رُوِيَ:« أَنَّ اَللَّهَ تَعَالَى خَلَقَ اَلنَّخْلَةَ مِنْ فَضْلَةِ اَلطِّينَةِ اَلَّتِي خَلَقَ اَللَّهُ مِنْهَا آدَمَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ فَلِأَجْلِ ذَلِكَ تُسَمَّى اَلنَّخْلَةُ عَمَّةَ اَلْإِنْسَانِ».

And it has been narrated: "Indeed, Allah , the Exalted, created the date palm tree from the leftover clay with which He created Adam . For this reason, the date palm tree is called 'the aunt of mankind.'"
