12. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from Mu‘awiyah ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “He (the Imam) عليه السلام, has said, ‘If one who did not have an offering animal for his al- Tamattu‘ (advantageous), dies; it becomes obligatory on his guardian to fast on his behalf.’”
