Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Aban ibn Taghlib from Zurarah who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja‘far , about a man who kills a man in the sacred area. He (the Imam) said, ‘He owes one full and a half blood money, wergild. He fasts for two consecutive months of the sacred months, sets free a slave and feeds sixty destitute people.’ I then said, ‘What happens if something comes in between?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Give an example.’ I said, ‘The two ‘Id and the days of tashriq (11, 12, and 13).’ He (the Imam) said, ‘He is required to fast because it is an established right on him.’”
