حَدَّثَنَا الْمُظَفَّرُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الْمُظَفَّرِ الْعَلَوِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْكَرْخِيِّ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع أَوْ قَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ أَصْلَحَكَ اللَّهُ أَ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَلِيٌّ ع قَوِيّاً فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ فَكَيْفَ ظَهَرَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْمُ وَ كَيْفَ لَمْ يَدْفَعْهُمْ وَ مَا يَمْنَعُهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ آيَةٌ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَنَعَتْهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَ أَيَّةُ آيَةٍ هِيَ قَالَ قَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَ لَوْ تَزَيَّلُوا لَعَذَّبْنَا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْهُمْ عَذاباً أَلِيماً إِنَّهُ كَانَ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَدَائِعُ مُؤْمِنُونَ فِي أَصْلَابِ قَوْمٍ كَافِرِينَ وَ مُنَافِقِينَ فَلَمْ يَكُنْ عَلِيٌّ ع لِيَقْتُلَ الْآبَاءَ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ الْوَدَائِعُ فَلَمَّا خَرَجَتِ الْوَدَائِعُ ظَهَرَ عَلَى مَنْ ظَهَرَ فَقَاتَلَهُ وَ كَذَلِكَ قَائِمُنَا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ لَنْ يَظْهَرَ أَبَداً حَتَّى تَظْهَرَ وَدَائِعُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَإِذَا ظَهَرَتْ ظَهَرَ عَلَى مَنْ يَظْهَرُ فَقَتَلَهُ.
Narrated to us Muzaffar bin Ja’far bin Muzaffar Alawi; he said: Narrated to us Ja’far bin Muhammad bin Masud from his father; he from Ali bin Muhammad from Ahmad bin Muhammad from Hasan bin Mahboob from Ibrahim Karkhi that he said:
I asked Abi Abdullah or someone asked him: “May Allah give you good reward, was Ali
not firm in the religion of Allah?” He replied: “Yes, he was firm and strong.” The narrator asked, “Then how could the people subdue him and he did not defend himself and neither did he stop them?” The Imam said, “There is a verse in the Book of Allah which stopped him from it.” “What verse is that,” asked the narrator. Imam
said:
لَوْتَزَيَّلُوالَعَذَّبْنَاالَّذِينَكَفَرُوامِنْهُمْعَذَابًاأَلِيمًا
Had they been widely separated one from another, We would surely have punished those who disbelieved from among them with a painful punishment.5
It was so because the believing trusts of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime were present in the loins of the infidels and hypocrites, therefore it was not possible for Ali
to kill their ancestors till the trusts do not take birth. When the trusts came out Ali
attacked them and eliminated them. In the same way the reappearance of our Qaim
will not take place till the trusts of Allah do not take birth. After that he would subdue his opponents and eliminate them.”
