حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمَدَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ السَّائِحُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ الْعَسْكَرِيَّ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عليه السلام قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ عليه السلام يَا عَلِيُّ لَا يُحِبُّكَ إِلَّا مَنْ طَابَتْ وِلَادَتُهُ وَ لَا يُبْغِضُكَ إِلَّا مَنْ خَبُثَتْ وِلَادَتُهُ وَ لَا يُوَالِيكَ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ وَ لَا يُعَادِيكَ إِلَّا كَافِرٌ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَدْ عَرَفْنَا عَلَامَةَ خَبِيثِ الْوِلَادَةِ وَ الْكَافِرِ فِي حَيَاتِكَ بِبُغْضِ عَلِيٍّ وَ عَدَاوَتِهِ فَمَا عَلَامَةُ خَبِيثِ الْوِلَادَةِ وَ الْكَافِرِ بَعْدَكَ إِذَا أَظْهَرَ الْإِسْلَامَ بِلِسَانِهِ وَ أَخْفَى مَكْنُونَ سَرِيرَتِهِ فَقَالَ عليه السلام يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ إِمَامُكُمْ بَعْدِي وَ خَلِيفَتِي عَلَيْكُمْ فَإِذَا مَضَى فَابْنِيَ الْحَسَنُ إِمَامُكُمْ بَعْدَهُ وَ خَلِيفَتِي عَلَيْكُمْ فَإِذَا مَضَى فَابْنِيَ الْحُسَيْنُ إِمَامُكُمْ بَعْدَهُ وَ خَلِيفَتِي عَلَيْكُمْ ثُمَّ تِسْعَةٌ مِنْ وُلْدِ الْحُسَيْنِ وَاحِدٌ بَعْدَ وَاحِدٍ أَئِمَّتُكُمْ وَ خُلَفَائِي عَلَيْكُمْ تَاسِعُهُمْ قَائِمُ أُمَّتِي يَمْلَأُ الْأَرْضَ قِسْطاً وَ عَدْلًا كَمَا مُلِئَتْ جَوْراً وَ ظُلْماً لَا يُحِبُّهُمْ إِلَّا مَنْ طَابَتْ وِلَادَتُهُ وَ لَا يُبْغِضُهُمْ إِلَّا مَنْ خَبُثَتْ وِلَادَتُهُ وَ لَا يُوَالِيهِمْ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ وَ لَا يُعَادِيهِمْ إِلَّا كَافِرٌ مَنْ أَنْكَرَ وَاحِداً مِنْهُمْ فَقَدْ أَنْكَرَنِي وَ مَنْ أَنْكَرَنِي فَقَدْ أَنْكَرَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ مَنْ جَحَدَ وَاحِداً مِنْهُمْ فَقَدْ جَحَدَنِي وَ مَنْ جَحَدَنِي فَقَدْ جَحَدَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لِأَنَّ طَاعَتَهُمْ طَاعَتِي وَ طَاعَتِي طَاعَةُ اللَّهِ وَ مَعْصِيَتَهُمْ مَعْصِيَتِي وَ مَعْصِيَتِي مَعْصِيَةُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِيَّاكَ أَنْ تَجِدَ فِي نَفْسِكَ حَرَجاً مِمَّا أَقْضِي فَتَكْفُرَ فَوَ عِزَّةِ رَبِّي مَا أَنَا مُتَكَلِّفٌ وَ لَا نَاطِقٌ عَنِ الْهَوَى فِي عَلِيٍّ وَ الْأَئِمَّةِ مِنْ وُلْدِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ عليه السلام وَ هُوَ رَافِعٌ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ اللَّهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَى خُلَفَائِي وَ أَئِمَّةَ أُمَّتِي بَعْدِي وَ عَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُمْ وَ انْصُرْ مَنْ نَصَرَهُمْ وَ اخْذُلْ مَنْ خَذَلَهُمْ وَ لَا تُخْلِ الْأَرْضَ مِنْ قَائِمٍ مِنْهُمْ بِحُجَّتِكَ ظَاهِراً أَوْ خَافِياً مَغْمُوراً لِئَلَّا يَبْطُلَ دِينُكَ وَ حُجَّتُكَ وَ بُرْهَانُكَ وَ بَيِّنَاتُكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ عليه السلام يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ قَدْ جَمَعْتُ لَكُمْ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا مَا إِنْ فَارَقْتُمُوهُ هَلَكْتُمْ وَ إِنْ تَمَسَّكْتُمْ بِهِ نَجَوْتُمْ وَ السَّلامُ عَلى مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الْهُدى.

: Informed us Ahmad bin Muhammad Hamdani: Narrated to us Muhammad bin Hisham: Narrated to us Ali bin Hasan as-Saaih that he said: I heard al-Hasan bin Ali al-Askari say: Narrated to me my father from his father from his grandfather
: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ali ibn Abi Talib
:
“O Ali! None will love you but the one whose birth is pure and none will hate you but the one of impure birth. None will befriend you but a believer and none will bear enmity against you but a disbeliever.” Abdullah Ibn Masud stood up and asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! We came to know the sign of impure birth and a disbeliever in your life by malice and enmity against Ali . But what is the sign of impure birth and disbelief after you, when Islam will appear only on the tongues while its essence shall remain concealed?’ He answered, “O son of Masud! Surely, Ali Ibn Abi Talib
is your Imam after me and my caliph upon you.
After he expires, my son Hasan is your Imam after him and my caliph upon you. When he dies, my son Husain
is your Imam after him and my caliph upon you. Thereafter nine descendants of Husain
, one after the other are your Imams and my caliphs upon you. The ninth of them is the Qaim in my nation, who will fill the earth with justice and equity, as it would be fraught with injustice and oppression. None shall love them save the one whose birth is pure and none shall hate them but the one with impure birth. None will befriend them but a believer and none will bear enmity against them but a disbeliever.
Whoever denies any one amongst them has indeed denied me and whoever denies me has indeed denied Allah, the Mighty and Glorified. Whoever rejects even one from them, then indeed he has rejected me and whoever rejects me has rejected Allah, the Mighty and Glorified. For certainly, their obedience is my obedience and my obedience is the obedience of Allah. (Similarly), their disobedience is my disobedience and my disobedience is the disobedience of Allah, the Mighty and Glorified. O son of Masud! Keep away from any skepticism in your heart concerning their judgments, lest you become a disbeliever. By the Might of my Lord, I am not indulging in pretense nor am I speaking from my desire concerning Ali and the Imams from his descendants.”
Then he raised his hands towards the sky and prayed, “O Allah! You take him as Your slave whoever takes my caliphs and the Imams of my Ummah after me as their masters, and You take as enemy whoever takes them as enemy. You help him who helps them and You forsake him who forsakes them. Do not leave the earth without a proof from them, either he is apparent, or occult and fearful that Your religion, Your proof and Your arguments may not be nullified.” Then he said, “O son of Masud! I have told you now, all those things which if you leave, you will be destroyed but if you fasten unto them, you will be saved. And safe is the one who follows the guidance.”
