حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زِيَادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَى الرِّضَا عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ عليه السلام قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص أَنَا سَيِّدُ مَنْ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ جَبْرَئِيلَ وَ مِيكَائِيلَ وَ إِسْرَافِيلَ وَ حَمَلَةِ الْعَرْشِ وَ جَمِيعِ مَلَائِكَةِ اللَّهِ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ وَ أَنْبِيَاءِ اللَّهِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَ أَنَا صَاحِبُ الشَّفَاعَةِ وَ الْحَوْضِ الشَّرِيفِ وَ أَنَا وَ عَلِيٌّ أَبَوَا هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ مَنْ عَرَفَنَا فَقَدْ عَرَفَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ مَنْ أَنْكَرَنَا فَقَدْ أَنْكَرَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ مِنْ عَلِيٍّ سِبْطَا أُمَّتِي وَ سَيِّدَا شَبَابِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ الْحَسَنُ وَ الْحُسَيْنُ وَ مِنْ وُلْدِ الْحُسَيْنِ تِسْعَةُ أَئِمَّةٍ طَاعَتُهُمْ طَاعَتِي وَ مَعْصِيَتُهُمْ مَعْصِيَتِي تَاسِعُهُمْ قَائِمُهُمْ وَ مَهْدِيُّهُمْ.
Narrated to us Ahmad bin Ziyad bin Ja’far: Narrated to us Ali bin Ibrahim bin Hashim from his father from Ali bin Mabad from Husain bin Khalid from Abil Hasan Ali bin Musa al-Ridha 
from his father from his forefathers that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“I am the chief of the creation of Allah, the Mighty and Glorified. I am better than Jibraeel, Mikaeel, Israfeel, the carriers of the Throne (Arsh), all the close angels of Allah and the messengers of Allah ﷺ. I am the owner of the Intercession and the honorable Hauz. I and Ali are the fathers of this Ummah. Whoever recognizes us has indeed recognized Allah, the Mighty and Glorified. And whoever refutes us has indeed refuted Allah, the Mighty and Glorified. From Ali are the two grandsons of my Ummah and the chiefs of the people of Paradise, Hasan and Husain . From the descendants of Husain are nine Imams , their obedience is my obedience and their disobedience is my disobedience. The ninth of them is their Qaim and their Mahdi.”
