حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ أَبِي عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْهِلَالِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ الطَّيَّارِ يَقُولُ كُنَّا عِنْدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَ الْحَسَنَ وَ الْحُسَيْنَ عليه السلام وَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَ عُمَرَ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ وَ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثاً جَرَى بَيْنَهُ وَ بَيْنَهُ وَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِمُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص يَقُولُ إِنِّي أَوْلى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ ثُمَّ أَخِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَوْلى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَإِذَا اسْتُشْهِدَ فَابْنِيَ الْحَسَنُ أَوْلى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ ثُمَّ ابْنِيَ الْحُسَيْنُ أَوْلى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَإِذَا اسْتُشْهِدَ فَابْنُهُ عَلِيٌ أَوْلى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَ سَتُدْرِكُهُ يَا عَلِيُّ ثُمَّ ابْنُهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍ أَوْلى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَ سَتُدْرِكُهُ يَا حُسَيْنُ ثُمَّ تُكَمِّلُهُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ إِمَاماً تِسْعَةٌ مِنْ وُلْدِ الْحُسَيْنِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ اسْتَشْهَدْتُ الْحَسَنَ وَ الْحُسَيْنَ ص وَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَ عُمَرَ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ وَ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ فَشَهِدُوا لِي عِنْدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ سُلَيْمُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ وَ قَدْ كُنْتُ سَمِعْتُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ سَلْمَانَ وَ أَبِي ذَرٍّ وَ الْمِقْدَادِ وَ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فَحَدَّثُونِي أَنَّهُمْ سَمِعُوا ذَلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص.
Narrated to us my father 
: Narrated to us Saad bin and from Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Isa from Muhammad bin Abi Umair from Umar bin Uzaina from Aban bin Abi Ayyash from Sulaym bin Qais Hilali that he said: I heard Abdullah bin Ja’far at-Tayyar say:
“We were present in a gathering that included Muawiyah, Hasan, Husain, Abdullah ibn Abbas, Umar bin Abu Salma and Usamah bin Zaid. Traditions were being narrated. The narrator said to Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I have a greater claim on the faithful than they have on themselves, after my brother Ali is having greater claim on the believers than they have on themselves. Then after him my son, Hasan has a greater claim on the believers than they have on themselves. After him my son, Husain has a greater claim on the believers than they have on themselves. After him his son, Ali has a greater claim on the believers than they have on themselves. And you O Ali will see him. After him his son, Muhammad has a greater claim on the believers than they have on themselves. And you O Husain will see him. Then he completed twelve Imams nine of whom were from the progeny of Husain.
Abdullah says: This statement of mine was verified by Hasan, Husain, Abdullah ibn Abbas, Umar bin Abu Salma and Usamah bin Zaid in the presence of Muawiyah.” Sulaym bin Qays says: I heard this tradition from Salman, Abu Tharr, Miqdad and Usamah bin Zaid who said that they heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
