حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ وَ سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْيَرِيُّ جَمِيعاً عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَهْزِيَارَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَدِيدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ وَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ جَمِيعاً عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ عليه السلام وَ هُوَ يَقُولُ لَنْ تَخْلُوَ الْأَرْضُ إِلَّا وَ فِيهَا رَجُلٌ مِنَّا يَعْرِفُ الْحَقَّ فَإِذَا زَادَ النَّاسُ فِيهِ قَالَ قَدْ زَادُوا وَ إِذَا نَقَصُوا مِنْهُ قَالَ قَدْ نَقَصُوا وَ إِذَا جَاءُوا بِهِ صَدَّقَهُمْ وَ لَوْ لَمْ يَكُنْ ذَلِكَ كَذَلِكَ لَمْ يُعْرَفِ الْحَقُّ مِنَ الْبَاطِلِ قَالَ عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ عَوَّاضٍ الطَّائِيُّ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ لَسَمِعْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مِنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عليه السلام بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ لَسَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ.
Narrated to us Muhammad bin Hasan bin Ahmad bin Walid 
that he said: Narrated to us Muhammad bin Hasan as-Saffar and Saad bin Abdullah and Abdullah bin Ja’far Himyari, all of them from Ibrahim bin Mahziyar from Ali bin Hadid from Ali bin Noman and Hasan bin Ali Washa all of them from Hasan bin Abi Hamza Thumali from his father that he said: I heard Aba Ja’far say: “The earth is never devoid of a person who is aware of the truth so that when people resort to excess in religion he may inform that it is excess and when they are deficient he may warn that it is a deficiency. If they bring him the truth, he testifies it. If it had not been so, it will be difficult to discriminate between truth and falsehood.” Abdul Hameed bin Awaaz Tai says: By Allah, except whom there is no deity, I have heard this tradition from him.
