Among the Concise Words of the Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him)

Hadith #135

وَ سُئِلَ اَلصَّادِقُ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: مَا حَدُّ حُسْنِ اَلْخُلُقِ قَالَ "تُلِينُ جَانِبَكَ وَ تُطِيبُ كَلاَمَكَ وَ تَلْقَى أَخَاكَ بِبِشْرٍ حَسَنٍ".

Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq was asked: "What is the definition of good character?" Imam replied: "It is to be gentle in your behaviour, speak kindly, and meet your brother with a cheerful face."
