He (Mu'awiyah ibn Ammar) said: I asked him (Imam Abu Abdullah عليه السلام) about the words of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Mighty and Majestic: "And whoever intends a deviation therein or wrongdoing, We will make him taste a painful punishment." (Surah Al-Hajj 22:25) Imam عليه السلام replied: "Every act of injustice is a form of deviation (ilhad), and striking a servant without cause is among such deviation."
