However, if one only performs Qunoot in the fifth and tenth rak'ahs, it is still permissible as there is a narration supporting this practice. If a person finishes the Salat al-Kusuf (prayer during an eclipse) and the eclipse has not yet ended, they should repeat the prayer. Alternatively, if they wish, they may sit and glorify Allah سبحانه وتعالى the Almighty until the eclipse clears. It is not permissible to perform Salat al-Kusuf during the time of a prescribed (obligatory) prayer until the obligatory prayer is completed. If one is engaged in Salat al-Kusuf and the time for an obligatory prayer begins, they should interrupt the eclipse prayer, perform the obligatory prayer, and then continue from where they left off in Salat al-Kusuf.
