Imam Ali ibn Musa Ar-Ridha عليه السلام said: "Any path that is trodden and commonly used, whether it has a main road or not, should not be used for prayer." He was asked: "Then where should one pray?" Imam عليه السلام said: "To the right or to the left (of the path)."
