Hadith.467 - It has been narrated that the reason behind this practice is that Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, has prescribed five obligatory prayers for people, and thus, one takbir is designated for the deceased from each of these obligatory prayers.
When offering the funeral prayer for a woman, one should stand near her chest. There is no Tasleem (final salutatory phrase) in the funeral prayer except in cases of taqiyya (precautionary dissimulation to protect oneself).
