1. Ahmad ibn Idris has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan ibn Yahya from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan, who passed away, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the two thousand that one has left with his family for two years’ expenses is there Zakat on it? He (the Imam) said, ‘If he is present, there is Zakat due but if he is not present Zakat is not due on it.’”
