5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Dawud ibn Farqad who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah , about the case of al-Ta‘widh (protective sacred expressions from Quran or names of Allah) which women hang on themselves. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is not harmful.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘She can read, write but must not touch.’ It is narrated that she cannot write al-Quran.’”
