By this isnad from Bakr b. `Abdullah. He said: Muhammad b. `Ubaydullah and `Abdullah b. al-Salt al-Juhdari narrated to us. They said: Ibn `A’isha narrated to us from `Abdullah b. `Abd al-Rahman al-Hamadani from his father. He said:

When `Ali b. Abi Talib buried Fatima , he stood at the edge of the grave. This was in the middle of the night because he had buried her at night. Then, he recited: For every meeting between two lovers there is a departure, And all that is done [together] before death is brief, My loss of one person after the other Is an indication that the lover is not everlasting, My remembrance will cease, and my love will be forgotten, And my lover will have a lover after me.
