Ahmad b. Ziyad b. Ja`far al-Hamadani narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to us from his father Ibrahim b. Hashim from `Abdullah b. Maymun from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers . He said:

The Messenger of Allah (s) legislated that the neighbours of the Mosque should attend [the congregational] prayer and said: To compensate for the people who do not attend the prayers, or to order a mu’adhin to call to prayer and make the iqama, then to order a man from my Ahl al-Bayt – and he is `Ali – to burn their homes with a bundle of firewood for not attending the prayer.
