Muhammad b. `Ali Majiluwayh narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: Ja`far b Muhammad al-Kufi narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Zayd narrated to us from `Abdullah b. al-Fadl from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said:

On the night that Allah made me ascend to heaven, my Lord said to me: “O Muhammad!” So, I said: “I am at Your service, my Lord.” So, he said: “Surely, `Ali is My Proof over My creation after you. He is the Imam of the people of My obedience. Whoever obeys him has obeyed Me, and whoever disobeys him has disobeyed Me. Establish him as a sign for your Nation so that they may be guided after you.”
