Ahmad b. Harun al-Fami narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Ja`far b. Batta narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Ishaq b. Sa`id narrated to us from Bakr b. Muhammad from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers . He said: Amir al-Mu'minin said:

People on Friday are of three states: (1) a man who witnesses it attentively and silently before the Imam – that will be a forgiveness of his sins from Friday until the next Friday, plus three days, because of the saying of Allah, “Whoever comes with a good deed will have ten like it.” (6:160) (2) A man who witnesses it in commotion, noise, and annoyance – so that will be his omen. (3) A man who witnesses it, and the Imam delivers the sermon, so he rises to pray, but he makes a mistake in the sunna – so that will be up to the will of Allah, whether He grants it or forbids it.
