Muhammad b. Ahmad al-Sinani narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Ja`far al-Kufi al-Asadi narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Isma`il al-Barmaki narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. Ahmad narrated to us. He said: Al-Qasim b. Sulayman narrated to us from Thabit b. Abi Safiyya from Sa`id b. `Alaqa from Abi Sa`id `Aqisa from the Master of Martyrs al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib from the Master of Deputies Amir al-Mu’minin `Ali b. Abi Talib . He said:

The Messenger of Allah (s) said to me: O `Ali! You are my brother, and I am your brother. I was chosen for prophethood, and you were selected for Imamate. I am the patron of revelation, and you are the patron of interpretation. You and I are the two fathers of this Nation. O `Ali! You are my deputy, my vicegerent (khalifa), my vizier, and my inheritor. You are the father of my descendants. Your partisans (shi`a) are my partisans, and your supporters are my supporters. Your friends are my friends, and your enemies are my enemies. O `Ali! You are my companion over the Pond anon. You are my companion in the Praiseworthy Station (maqam al-mahmud). You are my standard bearer in the Hereafter just as you are my standard bearer in this world. Whoever aligns with you will be made happy, and whoever opposes you will be made wretched. Surely, the angels gain nearness to Allah through your love and your wilaya. By Allah, there are more who love you in heaven than there are on Earth. O `Ali! You are the trustee of my Nation and the Proof of Allah over it after me. Your words are my words, your order is my order, obedience to you is obedience to me, your rebuke is my rebuke, your prohibition is my prohibition, and disobedience to you is disobedience to me. Your party is my party, and my party is the Party of Allah. “Whoever aligns with Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe, then surely, the Party of Allah will prevail.” (5:56)
