- حدثنا أبي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن إسماعيل بن مرار، عن يونس بن عبد الرحمن، عن عبد الله بن سنان، عن أبي حمزة الثمالي، عن الاصبغ بن نباتة، أنه قال:
كان أمير المؤمنين علي ابن أبي طالب (عليه السلام) إذا اتي بالمال أدخله بيت مال المسلمين، ثم جمع المستحقين، ثم ضرب يده في المال فنثره يمنة ويسرة، وهو يقول: يا صفراء، يا بيضاء، لا تغريني، غري غيري: هذا جناي وخياره فيه * * إذ كل جان يده إلى فيه (3) ثم لا يخرج حتى يفرق ما في بيت مال المسلمين ويؤتي كل ذي حق حقه، ثم يأمر أن يكنس ويرش، ثم يصلي فيه ركعتين، ثم يطلق الدنيا ثلاثا، يقول بعد التسليم: يا دنيا لا تتعرضي لي ولا تتشوقي ولا تغريني، فقد طلقتك ثلاثا لا رجعة لي عليك (1).
My father 
narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us. He said: Ibrahim b. Hashim narrated to us from Isma`il b. Marrar from Yunus b. `Abd al-Rahman from `Abdullah b. Sinan from Abi Hamza al-Thumali from al-Asbagh b. Nubata. He said:
Whenever Amir al-Mu’minin `Ali b. Abi Talib 
was given money, he put it in the treasury of the Muslims (bayt al-mal al-muslimin). Then, he would gather those who were wronged, and he would take the money with his hand and distribute it left and right while saying: O gold, O silver! Do not deceive me – deceive someone else. I give this to others and forbid my hand from it. He would not leave until he distributed what was in the treasury of the Muslims and gave everyone their due right. Then, he would call for it to be swept and washed. Then, he would pray two units in it. Then, he would divorce this world three times; saying after the taslim: O world! Do not present yourself to me, do not make me long for you, and do not deceive me, for I have divorced you three times, and there is no coming back to you.
