Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Sahl b. Ziyad from Muhammad b. `Isa from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Abi Nasr from Jamil b. Darraj from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad . He said: Amir al-Mu’minin would say:

The basis of mankind – his heart, his intellect, his religion, and his chivalry – is whatever he makes of himself. The days change, but the people are as Adam.
