Al-Husayn b. Ahmad b. Idris narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Muhammad b Ahmad b Yahya b. `Imran al-Ash`ari from Muhammad b. `Ali rom `Isa b. `Abdullah al-`Alawi al-`Amri from his father from his forefathers from `Ali . He said:

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: O Allah, have mercy on my vicegerents (khulafa’i) – three times. It was said: O Messenger of Allah! Who are your vicegerents? He said: Those who convey my narrations and my Sunna, then teach them to my Nation.
