Al-Husayn b. Ahmad b. Idris narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi'l Khattab from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Ja`far al-Azdi from `Amr b. Abi'l Miqdam. He said: I heard Aba Ja`far al-Baqir say:

Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi once, Allah repels one thousand hateful things from this world and one thousand hateful things of the Hereafter from him. The least of the hateful things from this world would be poverty, and the least of the hateful things of the next world would be the punishment of the grave.
