1. My father, my brother, ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain, and Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan all narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Abī Khalaf, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Ali ibn Ḥakam, from Safwān Al-Jammāl, who said: ‘Āmir ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Judhā’ah Al-Azdi and I were with Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq ) when ‘Āmir said to the Imam
, “People believe that the Commander of the Believers
was buried in Ruḥbah.” “No,” Imam
replied. “So where was he buried?” ‘Āmir asked. Imam
replied: After the death of the Commander of the Believers
, Ḥasan
carried him (to an area which is located) behind Kūfah, close to (the sea of) Najaf, to the left side of Gharī, and on the right side of Ḥīrah. He buried (the Commander of the Believers
) in some white-coloured gravel. After some time, I (Safwān Al-Jammāl) went to the location (which the Imam
had described), and I thought I had found the grave. When I returned, I told the Imam
about the location (that I had thought to be the grave of the Commander of the Believers
). Imam
responded, “You were right! You were right! You were right! May Allāh have mercy on you.”
