5. Ḥasan ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā narrated to me from his father, from Ibrāhīm ibn Abil Bilād, who said: Abul Ḥasan (Imam Kāżim ) asked me, “What do you recite in your salutation to the Prophet ﷺ?” I replied, “I recite that which is known and (commonly) narrated.” Imam
asked, “Should I not teach you something that is better than that which you recite?” I replied, “Yes. May I sacrifice myself for you.” As I was sitting there, Imam
wrote the following with his own hands for me, and he also read it to me: When you are standing next to his (the Prophet’s ﷺ) grave, recite (the following): ﷺ I testify that there is no god but Allāh; He is alone and He has no partners, and I testify that Muḥammad ﷺ is His slave and messenger. I testify that you are Muḥammad, son of ‘Abdillāh, and that you are the last of the prophets. I testify that you announced the messages of your Lord, you advised your nation, you fought in the way of your Lord, and you worshipped Him until that which is certain (death) came to you. And you fulfilled your obligations. O Allāh! Send Your blessing on Muḥammad, Your slave, Your messenger, Your confidant, Your trustee, Your chosen one, and the best of Your creation, (blessings which are) greater than any of the blessings You have sent on any of Your prophets or messengers. O Allāh! Send (Your) Salām on Muḥammad and the family of Muḥammad just as You sent Your Salām on Nūḥ “among the worlds.” Bestow Your favour on Muḥammad and the family of Muḥammad just as You bestowed Your favour “on Mūsā and Hārūn.” And bless Muḥammad and the family of Muḥammad just as You blessed Ibrāhīm and the family of Ibrāhīm. Verily You are the Praised, the Glorified. O Allāh! Send blessing on Muḥammad and the family of Muḥammad and have mercy on Muḥammad and the family of Muḥammad. . O Allāh! O Lord of the Sacred House! O Lord of the Sacred Mosque! O Lord of RUKN and MAQĀM! O Lord of the Sacred Land! O Lord of the lawful and the unlawful! O Lord of MASH’AR AL-ḤARĀM! Send my Salām to the soul of Muḥammad, Your Prophet.
