4 حَدَّثَنِي حَكِيمُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ غَسَّانَ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ كَانَتِ الْجِنُّ تَنُوحُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّع تَقُولُ- لِمَنِ الْأَبْيَاتُ بِالطَّفِّ عَلَى كُرْهٍ بَنَيْنَهُ * * * تِلْكَ أَبْيَاتُ الْحُسَيْنِ يَتَجَاوَبْنَ الرَّنِينَةَ

Ḥukaym ibn Dāwūd ibn Ḥukaym narrated to me from Salamah ibn Khaťťāb, from ‘Amr ibn Sa’īd, from Walīd ibn Ghassān, from someone who narrated to him, who said: The Jinn used to weep over Ḥusain and recite the following poem: To whom do these houses in Ťaf belong, the houses which were built unwillingly? These are the houses of Ḥusain
and they reciprocate each other’s weeping (over Ḥusain
).
